Daria Sergeevna Shikhanova (born November 30, 1999 , Saratov ), better known under the pseudonym Dora , is a Russian teenage pop-rock singer .
Daria is from Saratov . As a child, she was fond of pop music, at first listening to Russian performers who were broadcast on the radio, but later became interested in foreign artists as well. Daria herself attributed Avril Lavigne ‘s ” When You’re Gone ” and Beyoncé ‘s ” If I Were a Boy ” to her favorite songs . Despite the girl’s desire to study at a music school, her parents were against giving her a classical education .
Daria tried to take classical guitar lessons , but she quit the lessons herself, considering them boring and uninteresting. Later, in the ninth grade, she nevertheless decided to independently study one song for a school performance – it was “Radioactive ” by Imagine Dragons . A successful concert inspired the girl to continue mastering the guitar.
